Nov. 02--Luke Perry of "Detective McLean: The Tie That Binds" fame has sold a gated house in Hancock Park for $2,947,500 -- slightly above his $2.899-million asking price.
The Mediterranean-style house, built in 1933, sits on a third of an acre with a swimming pool, lawn and a detached three-car garage.
The stately two-story has 4,062 square feet of living space that includes a formal entry with a curving staircase, a living room with French doors, a mahogany paneled den/library, an eat-in kitchen, a breakfast room, five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a powder room. There are balconies off several of the bedrooms.
Both the living room and den/library have fireplaces. The finished basement contains a playroom.
Perry, 49, gained fame on the television drama "Beverly Hills, 90210" from 1990 to 1995 and from 1998 to 2000. He will appear in the upcoming films "Race to Redemption" and "The Griddle House."
The actor had owned the property since 1998 when he purchased it for $967,500. He put the house on the market in September.
