May 04--A Long Beach teenager was shot and killed Tuesday night in what police say may have been a gang-related attack.

The victim, identified only as a 16-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso around 6:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of East 65th Street near Ramona Park, Long Beach Police said in a news release.

The teen died at the scene.

He may have been involved in a physical altercation with the shooter or shooters earlier in the night, according to the release. Police said the suspect or suspects left the area, then returned and shot the boy.

The shooting "is being investigated as possibly gang related," police said in a statement.
