BRIEF: 'Little Mermaid' cast announced

June 12--Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced the cast of its upcoming production of Disney's "The Little Mermaid."

In the 75-minute musical, to be directed by Rachel Rockwell, Rachel Eskenazi-Gold will play Ariel, the titular mermaid, and Rebecca Finnegan will be the villainous Ursula.

Additionally, Matthew Jones is King Triton, Brandon Springman is Prince Eric, Sebastian is Joseph Anthony Byrd and Matthew Uzarraga is Flounder.

The production will also feature Mark David Kaplan as Grimbsy, Matthew Crowle as Scuttle, Adam Fane as Jetsam and Sean Blake as Flotsam.

King Triton's other daughters will be played by Missy Aguilar, Allyson Graves, Hanah Rose Nardone and Erica Stephan.

The cast also includes Este'Fan Kizer, Peter Scharbrough and Stephen Spanopoulos.

"The Little Mermaid" begins at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, 800 E. Grand Ave., on July 3 and will continue through Aug. 16.
