BRIEF: Linebacker Daelin Hayes picks Notre Dame football

Dec. 10--His high school is located in Ann Arbor, Mich.

But four-star linebacker Daelin Hayes had three colleges from enemy territory on his final list.

On Thursday, Hayes, a Skyline High School senior, orally committed to play for Notre Dame. He chose the Irish over Michigan State and Ohio State.

Hayes announced his commitment during a "Dark Knight"-themed video on bleacherreport.com that showed him running through city streets before stopping in front of a Notre Dame billboard.

Hayes talks about his faith throughout the video and talks about "God, country and Notre Dame" before saying, "Go Irish."

Hayes, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounder, previously had committed to USC. He changed his mind in October after Trojans coach Steve Sarkisian was fired.

Hayes is considered the ninth-best outside linebacker in the country and 121st-best player overall, according to 247sports.com's composite rankings.

Hayes also had offers from Alabama, Illinois, LSU, Oklahoma and Wisconsin among others.

He is the Irish's 19th commitment from the Class of 2016.
