BRIEF: Light Opera Works announces 2015 season

Oct. 27--Light Opera Works in Evanston, a theater whose productions boast full, original orchestrations of classic musicals, announced its 2015 season on Monday.

The year begins modestly with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's ensemble musical, "The Fantasticks," June 6-14.

The proceedings grow bigger with "South Pacific," Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's World War II-set love story, playing Aug. 15-30, 2015.

A concert of classic hits from Tinseltown's golden age called "Hollywood's Greatest Song Hits" plays Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave. in Evanston, Oct. 2-11, 2015.

Last is "Guys and Dolls," Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows' gangster comedy based on Damon Runyon's writings. It runs Dec. 26 -- Jan. 3, 2016.

Directors of the productions have not yet been named. All shows save for "Hollywood's Greatest Hits" play the Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson St. in Evanston.
