Feb. 29--When Leonardo DiCaprio (finally) tasted victory at the Academy Awards, it was Crying Michael Jordan who ultimately took a loss.
Twitter fans congratulated DiCaprio for winning an Oscar for his leading role in "The Revenant" on Sunday, but more than a few admitted they had some Jordan memes queued up just in case the actor went home empty-handed for a sixth time.
One meme even flipped the script on the running gag, putting DiCaprio's face on Jordan's body as he's flying toward the basket to serve up a monster dunk.
Others shared what could have been had DiCaprio lost.
DiCaprio's achievement did at least provide Internet fodder for another Chicago team long in search of the big prize.
Meanwhile, Crying Jordan did find a victim this weekend: NBA all-time great Oscar Robertson, who saw a lot of blowback for his earlier criticism of Stephen Curry once the Golden State star led the Warriors to a dramatic overtime win over Oklahoma City on Saturday.
