BRIEF: Lawndale fire displaces 6 adults, 2 children

March 18--Seven residents were displaced after a fire broke out in a home early Wednesday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The blaze started around 6:50 a.m. in a two-story residential building in the 1900 block of South Troy Street, said Chicago Fire Chief Joe Roccasalva.

Another nearby two-story building also caught fire, Roccasalva said.

No injuries were reported, but six adults and two children were displaced as the result of the blaze, he said.

Firefighters struck out the fire around 7:30 a.m.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
