BRIEF: Large fire response for smell of smoke at Near North Side hotel

April 01--Chicago firefighters found no fire after being called to a Near North Side hotel Wednesday because of the smell of smoke, a Fire Department spokesman said.

Firefighters were called to Hotel Rush, 630 N. Rush St., about 12:30 p.m. because of the smell of smoke, spokesman Will Knight said. The call prompted a high-rise response and an emergency medical services plan that sends six ambulances to a fire scene.

No one was taken to a hospital, and no one was injured, Knight said.
