BRIEF: Barricaded suspect in Westlake surrenders to police

April 09--A man who had barricaded himself inside a residence Friday in L.A.'s Westlake neighborhood has surrendered to police, authorities said.

The incident began a little after noon Friday when someone called police to say that his roommate had threatened him with a gun, LAPD Officer Tony Im said.

Crisis negotiators, SWAT officers and behavioral experts converged on the scene in the 200 block of North Lake Street, he said. There are no reports of hostages, Im said.

The man surrendered to officers at about 6:15 p.m., said Officer Drake Madison.
