May 07--Los Angeles police on Saturday will hold two citywide gun buyback events in South Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Both events will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. One will be at the Los Angeles Sports Arena at 3939 S. Figueroa St. in Exposition Park and the other at Facey Medical Group at 11333 Sepulveda Blvd. in Mission Hills.
Individuals may surrender guns anonymously at these locations. Participants are asked to bring unloaded guns in a locked container or in a vehicle trunk.
Those turning in weapons may qualify for Ralph's gift cards worth $100 for handguns, shotguns and rifles and $200 for assault weapons.
City officials and LAPD gun experts will be available to answer questions.
