May 24--Lake Shore Drive will remain closed today to cars until around 11 a.m. to make way for hundreds of bicyclists as part of the Bike the Drive event.
The event began around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, as all lanes on Lake Shore Drive closed down between Hollywood Avenue and 57th Street.
The annual event is a fundraiser for Active Transportation Alliance, which is a nonprofit working to make biking, walking and public transportation safer across the region.
