Sept. 04--Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber will be out at least 3-5 days with a mild right rib cage strain.
Schwarber, one of their top offensive players since being called up from Triple-A Iowa, will rest for a few days and be reevaluated in St. Louis next week.
Schwarber is likely to miss the three-game series against the Cardinals, which begins Monday.
The Cubs are taking it cautiously with Schwarber, but are relieved it doesn't seem to be a more serious strain. Right fielder Jorge Soler is out for 3-4 weeks with an oblique injury.
