BRIEF: Kyle Schwarber in Cubs' lineup vs. Rockies LHP

July 27--Manager Joe Maddon values run prevention, but Monday night's lineup provides Kyle Schwarber with a chance to improve his stock against left-handed pitchers.

Schwarber will bat second against left-hander Jorge De La Rosa of Colorado as the Chicago Cubs attempt to snap a three-game losing streak at Wrigley Field.

Schwarber is 2-for-8 with no extra base hits and five strikeouts against left-handers, compared to a .425 mark (17-for-40) with three home runs and eight RBIs against right-handers.

Ironically, left-handed batters are hitting .301 against De La Rosa, compared to right-handed hitters' .228 mark.

As for the rest of the lineup, Kris Bryant (2-for-18, eight strikeouts) will bat third, followed by Anthony Rizzo (1-for-10). Starlin Castro, who is hitless in his past nine at-bats and 4-for-37 with nine strikeouts since the All-Star break, will bat seventh.

Here's the Cubs' lineup:
