Jan. 06--The Flea Theater in New York City has announced its spring 2016 season, including a play by Chicago playwright Kristiana Colon.
Colon's play "but i cd only whisper" will receive its New York premiere Feb. 18 through March 14. David Monteagudo will direct Colon's play set in 1970s New York City about a Vietnam War veteran who comes home to his family. The play features extracts from "for colored girls..." by Ntozake Shange.
Goodman Theatre named Colon, a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, to its all-female Playwrights Unit this year.
Following Colon's play is Adam Rapp's "Wolf in the River" (March 10 -- May 2) and Sarah Gancher's "The Place We Built" (April 14 -- May 23).
