Feb. 05--Kris Bryant may have come face to face with a shark before (see: Jeff Samardzija), but probably not like this.
The Cubs' Rookie of the Year took to the waters of the Pacific Thursday to swim with sharks (don't worry, he was in a protective cage) during a vacation in Hawaii. Bryant also checked out the Volcom Pipe Pro surf competition in Oahu, where fellow Red Bull athlete Jamie O'Brien competed.
But Bryant's trip wasn't all play and no work. He took over Red Bull's Snapchat account Wednesday, when he visited batting cages and a local baseball field. The Cubs report to spring training in Arizona in two weeks.
