Dec. 26--A small kitchen fire forced the cancellation of Christmas dinner at Wildfire restaurant in Lincolnshire for about 1,000 customers, officials said.
The fire took place about 1:30 p.m. at the restaurant, 235 Parkway Drive in the north suburb, fire officials said.
"We had quite a lengthy list of people coming in," said the restaurant's general manager, who would not give his full name. He estimated about 1,000 customers.
Battalion Chief Scott Knesley of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District confirmed no one was injured.
The general manager said a cleaning crew was working on the kitchen, and the restaurant was expected to reopen at 11 a.m. Friday.
