BRIEF: 'Kiss Me Kate,' 'The Band Wagon' and 'Calamity Jane' are out on Blu-ray

March 07--Three great musicals from 1953 have just made their Blu-ray debuts -- "Kiss Me Kate," "The Band Wagon" and "Calamity Jane." Warner Home Entertainment is offering the newly restored "Kiss Me Kate," starring Kathryn Grayson, Howard Keel, Ann Miller and a young Bob Fosse, in its original 3-D as well as the 2-D version. "The Band Wagon," directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse, has also been newly restored. And "Calamity Jane," starring Doris Day and Keel, has been remastered for its Blu-ray bow. The films are available as single discs as well as part of the set "Blu-ray Musicals Collection," which also includes the 1952 musical masterpiece "Singin' in the Rain."
