May 31--"Kinky Boots," the best-musical Tony winner that originated in Chicago prior to its Broadway opening, is heading to the Oriental Theatre for one week of performances at the end of August.
Featuring a score by Cyndi Lauper and directed by Jerry Mitchell, the feel-good musical follows a small shoe factory that trades in its dusty oxfords for sparkling stilettos. The tour was last seen in Chicago in July 2015.
Individual tickets for "Kinky Boots," which plays Aug. 30-Sept. 4, are not yet on sale. The Oriental Theatre is located at 24 W. Randolph St.
