April 26--East Aurora families with students who will be in kindergarten next year are invited to the free Kindergarten Readiness Night Thursday.
The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Cowherd Middle School, 441 N. Farnsworth Ave. in Aurora.
The annual event is for incoming kindergarten students and their parents. It is designed to introduce incoming kindergartners to the skills they need to practice over the summer to be ready for kindergarten, East Aurora School District officials said.
There will be English and Spanish hands-on learning activities in math, science, reading, and technology led by kindergarten teachers and curriculum facilitators, according to the district. Parents will be able to ask questions about kindergarten curriculum.
All families who attend will receive a free children's book -- "Good Night, Gorilla" by Peggy Rathmann.
