BRIEF: Kentucky leads the way with top spot in March Madness

March 16--The question entering the NCAA tournament remains: Who can beat Kentucky?

The undefeated Wildcats earned the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament field as was revealed on Sunday during the selection show.

Wisconsin, Villanova and Duke earned the other three top seeds.

Shortly after Wisconsin beat Michigan State in overtime for the Big Ten championship, the Badgers learned they will head to Omaha to face No. 16 Coastal Carolina in a first-round matchup.

BYU and Ole Miss were among the last four teams in the field, while UCLA earned a surprise invitation.

The Big Ten received seven bids with No. 4 Maryland, No. 7 Michigan State, No. 9 Purdue, No. 7 Indiana, No. 7 Iowa, No. 10 Ohio State and top-seeded Wisconsin.

Notre Dame earned a No. 3 seed and will play No. 14 Northeastern in Pittsburgh for a first-round matchup.

As many predicted, Illinois was left out of the NCAA tournament field.
