Jan. 11--Keith Urban announced Monday he plans to release his new album "Ripcord" ahead of a 46-city tour that's scheduled to stop in Rosemont in October.
The "American Idol" judge is set to perform Oct. 28 at the Allstate Arena. The tour is slated to begin June 2 in Kansas City and continue into November with additional dates to be announced. Tickets for some markets are expected to go on sale Jan. 29.
Joining Urban on tour is Illinois native Brett Eldredge, who was part of Urban's 2014 Raise 'Em Up Tour.
"I just love touring with him," Urban told Billboard magazine about Eldredge, who grew up downstate in Paris. "And I just love Brett as a person. He's probably one of the best singers in town. And he's working so hard to be a great live act. I saw him really working it every night on the last tour, so for me it was a no-brainer to take him back out again. I'm just glad he wanted to come with us."
"American Idol," which premiered its 15th and final season last week, airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox at 7 p.m.
