Seau is the 12th former USC player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Frank Gifford, Ron Mix, Red Badgro, O.J. Simpson, Willie Wood, Anthony Munoz, Ronnie Lott, Lynn Swann, Ron Yary, Marcus Allen and Bruce Matthews.

Seau was the 1992 NFL defensive player of the year.
