BRIEF: Julia Louis-Dreyfus' son joins Northwestern basketball team as walk-on

Oct. 02--Get out! Julia Louis-Dreyfus' youngest son has joined Northwestern University's basketball team as a walk-on, a university representative announced this week.

"So proud of our boy," Louis-Dreyfus tweeted Wednesday night. "Yes, he got the height from me."

Freshman Charlie Hall, 18, is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds, according to his Northwestern athletic profile. He averaged 15.3 points, 11 rebounds and five assists per game during his final season at his Santa Monica high school, according to nusports.com.

On Wednesday, Northwestern Associate Director of Athletic Communications Nick Brilowski announced on Twitter that Hall had joined the team.

"Welcome to new @NUMensBball walk-on Charlie Hall. Yada, yada, yada...you might know his mother," Brilowski tweeted. The Northwestern basketball team, which went 15-17 last season, kicks off its season in November.

Louis-Dreyfus and her husband, Brad Hall, met while attending Northwestern. She received an honorary doctor of arts degree in 2007.

The fifth season of her show "Veep" is slated to premiere next year.
