BRIEF: Jorge Soler out of Cubs' lineup vs. Cardinals

May 04--ST. LOUIS -- Despite a 5-for-12 performance with one double last weekend against Milwaukee, right fielder Jorge Soler will not start Monday night when the Chicago Cubs open a four-game series at National League Central rival St. Louis.

Soler did strike out five times against the Brewers, increasing his season total to 38. Soler hit a double in his only career at-bat against Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez.

Chris Denorfia, who is 4-for-46 as a pinch-hitter, will start in right field. Chris Coghlan will bat second and play left field.

Miguel Montero, who is batting .382 with three home runs since April 18, will start at catcher.
