April 04--Jorge Soler will get the nod as the designated hitter in the Cubs' opener Monday night despite a sluggish spring training.
Soler will bat seventh against Angels starter Garrett Richards. Soler batted .145 this spring but got the nod over left-handed hitter Tommy La Stella, who will be relegated to a pinch-hitting role.
Ben Zobrist will bat third and Kris Bryant fifth.
