BRIEF: Jordan Lynch takes his talents to Canada

Jan. 15--Former Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, according to the team's news release.

A Heisman Trophy finalist after his 2013 senior season, Lynch completed 509-of-824 passes during his career. He threw for 51 touchdowns and also rushed for 4,343 yards on 662 carries for 48 touchdowns.

The Mt. Carmel High School alum was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Bears, who tried to convert Lynch into a running back. But he received limited playing time, mostly on special teams, during the 2014 NFL preseason before being released.

Jordan Lynch hopes his skill set translate in CFL
