Nov. 05--MONTREAL -- Jonathan Toews had no idea until recently that he was approaching a key career scoring milestone, let alone two.
The Blackhawks captain recorded his 200th career goal during the Hawks' 5-0 victory over the Canadiens on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre and later added his 250th career assist.
"Someone mentioned it to me the other day that I was sneaking up there," Toews said of 200 goals. "Other than that, I didn't really have a clue."
Toews picked up goal No. 200 in the first period when he redirected a Duncan Keith shot past Canadiens goaltender Carey Price to open the scoring. Toews later added the assist when he fed Patrick Kane for a goal midway through the third period.
"It's nice to have had the career I've had so far," said Toews, who played in his 497th NHL game. "I've been part of a great team and hopefully it's the first step in a long journey. So we'll see where it goes."
