BRIEF: Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane top list of best-selling NHL jerseys

Jan. 08--Winning a third Stanley Cup in six seasons helped to move some Blackhawks merchandise last year.

Jonathan Toews had the top-selling jersey in 2015, the NHL said Friday, while Patrick Kane had the second-best selling jersey.

Kane had the top-selling jersey of 2014 while Toews placed third. It had been a turbulent year for Kane, who faced an investigation for an alleged sexual assault -- for which he was never charged -- but on the ice won a third Stanley Cup and leads the league in points this season.

But despite the controversy, Kane still moved a significant amount of merchandise.
