BRIEF: John Scott details NHL All-Star drama in Players' Tribune article

Jan. 28--In a new article in the Players' Tribune, Canadiens defenseman John Scott writes about how he made his way in the NHL as an enforcer and how the league has discouraged him from participating in the All-Star Game.

Scott, a former Blackhawk who has five career goals in 285 games played, is a fan-elected captain for this weekend's NHL All-Star Game in Nashville. Numerous players, he says, have also voiced their support.

But according to Scott, the NHL tried to dissuade him from playing, asking, "Do you think this is something your kids would be proud of?"

He continued: "Because, while I may not deserve to be an NHL All-Star, I know I deserve to be the judge of what my kids will -- and won't -- be proud of me for."
