Aug. 17--Comedian John Oliver is doing a night of stand-up comedy at the Chicago Theatre this winter, Live Nation and Madison Square Garden Entertainment announced.
Oliver, the British comic best known in the U.S. for his work on "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart and for HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," a satirical look at the week's news, first became known in the U.K. for his politically-laced stand-up act. His Chicago appearance will be 7 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Chicago Theatre, 150 N. State St.; tickets ($55-$75) go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21 via Ticketmaster.
