BRIEF: John Lackey makes Cubs debut vs. Arizona

April 07--The bar has been raised for John Lackey as he makes his Chicago Cubs debut Thursday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Lackey, 37, follows Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester, who combined to limit the Los Angeles Angels to one run in 14 innings. Lackey has pitched three times at Chase Field, posting a 3-1 win on Aug. 26 in which he allowed one run in seven innings for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Kyle Schwarber returns to the Cubs' lineup and will play left field against hard-throwing Rubby De La Rosa.
