BRIEF: Joakim Noah sits out, expected to return to practice Thursday

Nov. 11--Joakim Noah didn't practice Wednesday but shot free throws afterward and coach Fred Hoiberg said the big man is expected to return to practice Thursday.

"We hope to get Jo back for full activity (Thursday)," coach Fred Hoiberg said.

If Noah practices, how his left knee responds will determine whether he plays Friday versus the Hornets. Noah sat on Monday in Philadelphia when the knee, which Noah had surgically repaired in May 2014, experienced soreness.

Hoiberg had planned to start Noah on Monday. But the coach said he's leaning toward using the lineup of Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Doug McDermott, Nikola Mirotic and Pau Gasol against the Hornets.

The Bulls lost in Charlotte last week and surrendered 130 points.
