Jim Harbaugh, Alshon Jeffery among sports figures getting political

March 10--Jim Harbaugh has never been shy about his love for Judge Judy. He congratulated her on Twitter on her contract extension, has played gin with her and even appeared on her show.

Now, he's urging President Obama to nominate the "wise and competent" judge to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, other sports figures are weighing in on the 2016 presidential race. Ohio State coach Urban Meyer endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich for president Thursday, appearing in a video with the candidate.

Former Red Sox and Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon endorsed Donald Trump. Damon appeared on Season 7 of Trump's show "Celebrity Apprentice" before being fired by Trump in one of the final episodes.

"I want (Trump) for president," Damon told the New York Daily News Wednesday. "I'm a Trump fan ever since I met him seven or eight years ago. Everything he does, he does first-class -- his hotels, his businesses, his golf courses. The issues all the other politicians failed to discuss, (Trump) is bringing us up to speed."

At a press conference in Florida following Tuesday night's primaries, Trump gave a shout-out to former Yankees outfielder Paul O'Neill, who was in the audience.

NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France also endorsed Trump.

Across the aisle, Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery endorsed Hillary Clinton last month.
