BRIEF: Jeff Samardzija, David Robertson among SoxFest additions

Jan. 07--Several of the new players the Chicago White Sox added this offseason will come to Chicago for SoxFest on Jan. 23-25, including pitchers Jeff Samardzija, David Robertson, Zach Duke and Dan Jennings.

The Sox announced Wednesday that left-hander John Danks also will attend, as will four top prospects: left-hander Carlos Rodon, second baseman Micah Johnson, shortstop Tim Anderson and outfielder Courtney Hawkins.

They join the list of current players already slated to attend: Jose Abreu, Adam Eaton, Tyler Flowers, Avisail Garcia, Conor Gillaspie, Jake Petricka, Jose Quintana and Alexei Ramirez.

The 2015 SoxFest also will be a celebration of the 2005 World Series championship team, with several former players slated to attend: infielders Geoff Blum, Joe Crede and Tadahito Iguchi, pitchers Jose Contreras, Jon Garland, Orlando Hernandez and Bobby Jenks, and outfielders Scott Podsednik and Aaron Rowand.

Other former players scheduled to attend are Bo Jackson, Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Bill Melton, Minnie Minoso, Billy Pierce and Harold Baines.

SoxFest will be held at the Hilton Chicago. Single-day passes for Saturday and Sunday go on sale Friday.
