BRIEF: Jack Irons strikes again with a price cut on Malibu farmhouse

Feb. 18--Although it may look like Grandma's farmhouse, deep inside this Malibu home is a hippie-vibe recording studio belonging to drummer Jack Irons, a founding member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Priced last year at $1.975 million, the house is now relisted at $1.899 million -- a nearly 4% discount. That'll buy a few concert tickets.

Built in 1994, the two-story house sits on five acres and has a wrap-around porch to take in the ocean and mountain views.

A formal entry, dining and living rooms, a den, an office/art studio, three bedrooms and three bathrooms lie within the 3,026 square feet of living space. The master suite features a fireplace and an ocean-view deck.

The sprawling grounds include a lawn, flower gardens, raised vegetable gardens and fruit and avocado trees.

Irons, 52, has also played with Pearl Jam, Eleven and the Wallflowers. He has collaborated with Flea, Hole and Neil Young, among others. Last year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member released the record "Moonshine."

The property last changed hands in 2001, for $849,000.

Ellen Francisco of Coldwell Banker is the listing agent.
