BRIEF: J.J. Redick averaging career highs in multiple categories

March 13--Since Blake Griffin was sidelined Feb. 8, J.J. Redick has stepped up in a major way.

In the Clippers' 14 games without their superstar power forward, Redick has averaged 18.5 points, a steep increase from the 14.4 points he was averaging before Griffin went out.

Redick had 25 points in the Clippers' most recent win, a 120-108 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. He had 26 points in the game before that, an 89-76 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

The Clippers' sharp shooter is averaging a career-high 15.3 points this season on a career-high 46.5% shooting from the field. He's also averaging a career-high 42.7% from beyond the three-point line.

The Clippers have won nine of their games without Griffin, who had surgery Feb. 9 to remove a staph infection from his right elbow.

Redick has scored 20 or more points in five of those 14 games, helping the Clippers fill the 22.5-point hole left by Griffin's absence.

Griffin is expected to be back on the court soon, though no exact timeline for his return has been announced. But with Redick scoring so prolifically, the Clippers have been able to weather his absence just fine.
