BRIEF: Italy: Cooking classes are the highlight of fall culinary tour in Tuscany

July 09--Fall is an ideal time to visit Tuscany, with fewer crowds and cooler temperatures. It's also a good time to enjoy this nine-night tour that combines cooking classes with visits to local food markets and artisan craft producers.

Guests will visit Modena to see the production of Parmesan, prosciutto and balsamic vinegar; participate in a demonstration of olive oil production; and hunt for wild white truffles. They also will visit Cinque Terre, five beautiful fishing villages perched on the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The final two nights will be spent in Florence and include a walking tour and time to explore the open-air food and clothing markets. Tour size is limited.

Dates: Oct. 24-Nov. 2 and Nov. 2-11

Price: $3,685 per person, double occupancy. Includes accommodations in Montevettolini and Florence, daily breakfasts and three lunches, four cooking classes with dinner and wine, and guided tours. International airfare not included.
