BRIEF: Irwindale Speedway's 2015 schedule includes 14 NASCAR nights

Jan. 16--Irwindale Speedway unveiled its 2015 schedule on Thursday, which includes 14 nights of lower-level NASCAR stock-car racing.

The paved, half-mile oval track said its first NASCAR event featuring late-model stock cars is March 28.

The racing is the minor leagues of NASCAR, whose premier national level is the Sprint Cup Series.

A variety of other types of race cars compete on the Irwindale track as well during the season, including super stocks, legend cars, bandoleros and trucks. The track has events through Dec. 5.

Tickets for Irwindale Speedway's regular-season NASCAR races are $15 for adults and $5 for children age six to 12. Children five and younger can see the races for free.
