BRIEF: Irving Park blaze sends woman to hospital

Jan. 08--A woman was taken to a hospital after inhaling smoke during a house fire Friday morning on the Northwest Side.

The fire started at 5:53 a.m. in a room of a home in the 3600 block of North Sacramento Avenue in the city's Irving Park neighborhood, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Frank Velez.

A woman was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital with minor injuries from inhaling smoke, Velez said.

The fire was extinguished, and its cause is under investigation.
