Nov. 21--In the wake of the attacks in Paris and heightened security concerns globally, college stadiums have increased security measures.
In Minneapolis at TCF Bank Stadium, additional security was in place around the stadium Saturday morning hours before the Illinois-Minnesota game.
Fans heading into the Big Ten contest were told to leave their bags in the car or use clear bags.
The policy is one that is used by the NFL. Many fans are used to attending Vikings games at TCF Bank Stadium, a Minnesota spokesman said.
A news release was sent out Wednesday. Fans also had the option of checking their bags at the nearby basketball arena where the Gophers play.
