Dec. 17--Eli Peters, a three-star quarterback prospect from Jacksonville, Fla., signed his financial aid agreement with Illinois on Wednesday, according to tweets by Peters and Illini coaches. Peters intends to enroll at Illinois in January and participate in spring practice.
"I just signed my financial aid! Glad to be officially part of the Illini family!" Peters tweeted.
While the agreement does not obligate Peters to sign with Illinois, it does allow the coaches to have unlimited contact with him and speak about him publicly. High school football recruits cannot sign national letters of intent until Feb. 3.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Peters committed to the Illini in March, choosinig them over Temple and Toledo.
