Nov. 11--Illinois will participate in an eight-team tournament in Florida during the 2015-16 season, the team announced Tuesday.
The Illini will help headline the Emerald Coast Classic, which also includes Iowa State, Virginia Tech and UAB as well as Chattanooga, Alabama State, Chicago State and Jacksonville State.
First- and second-round games will be played on teams' campuses between Nov. 19 and Nov. 24 with the third-round and championship games scheduled on Nov. 27 and 28 at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla.
"This event will allow us to face high-level competition in a terrific setting in Florida," Illini coach John Groce said in a news release.
