BRIEF: Illini set spring game date

Jan. 27--Illinois has set its spring football scrimmage for 5 p.m. on April 18.

The Orange and Blue spring game will air live on the Big Ten Network. Spectators can attend the game and park for free.

The spring practices also feature an appearance at 6 p.m. on April 3 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. The Illini will also practice at Springfield's Sacred Heart-Griffin High School at 6 p.m. on April 10.

Practices begin at noon on March 14.

Coach Tim Beckman returns for his fourth season after the team ended last season with a loss to Louisiana Tech in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
