Nov. 30--Illinois assistant coach Alex Golesh, one of the football team's top recruiters, is leaving for a position at Iowa State, according to footballscoop.com.
Golesh worked for the Illini the last four seasons in different assistant capacities, including as a special teams and tight ends coach this season.
He joins a familiar coaching staff. Matt Campbell was hired by the Cyclones from Toledo, where he was the head coach and had previously served on staff as a fellow assistant with Golesh.
Illinois hired Bill Cubit as the team's head coach on Saturday after he had filled the position on an interim basis this season.
