BRIEF: Illini freshman guard sidelined with leg injury

July 24--Illinois freshman Jalen Coleman-Lands will be sidelined for the team's upcoming overseas trip next month.

The guard has a stress fracture in his lower left leg, the team announced on Friday morning.

"His health is our No. 1 priority, so we are holding him out of all on-court activities indefinitely," coach John Groce said in a statement. "We will reevaluate his status heading into fall preseason training."

Coleman-Lands will sit out of practices and games in Belgium, Netherlands and France from Aug. 9-19.

The four-star recruit from Indianapolis has been expected to make an impact this season for the Illini.
