BRIEF: 'Idol' creator Simon Fuller seeks winning offer for $18.95-million home

May 08--Simon Fuller, creator of "American Idol" and the "Idol" franchise, has listed a renovated compound for sale in Beverly Hills at $18.95 million.

A dramatic spiraling staircase connects the multiple levels of the modernized traditional-style home. A screening room, a plush wine cellar/tasting room, an open-plan kitchen with bar seating, a gym, an office, a sauna, five bedrooms and eight bathrooms are among the living spaces.

French doors in several rooms open to a large terrace overlooking the three-quarter acre of grounds. Steps lead to a lower lawn with a swimming pool.

Fuller, 54, gained fame managing the Spice Girls and has managed such notables as Annie Lennox, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. He created the music competition show "Pop Idol" in 2001 in the United Kingdom and turned it into an international enterprise with shows following the same format in more than 100 countries.

He paid $8.5 million for the property in 2005, public records show. The entrepreneur bought another Westside home last year.

Trista Rullan and Drew Fenton of Hilton Hyland, an affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate, are the listing agents.
