BRIEF: 'House of Cards' alum from Highland Park joins Woody Allen series

Feb. 24--"House of Cards" alumna Rachel Brosnahan is joining the cast of Woody Allen's upcoming Amazon television series, Deadline reported Wednesday.

Brosnahan, who grew up in Highland Park, will play a lead in the six-episode, half-hour series that stars Allen and Miley Cyrus. Brosnahan, 25, confirmed the news on Twitter.

Shooting is expected to begin next month, according to Deadline.

Brosnahan played reformed prostitute Rachel Posner on Netflix's "House of Cards" from 2013-15. She also stars with Casey Affleck and Chris Pine in "The Finest Hours," which was released last month.
