BRIEF: Hostage situation resolved in Oklahoma office building

Nov. 10--Police in Norman, Okla., on Monday resolved a hostage situation that had stretched into its fourth hour at an office building off Interstate 35.

Norman police could not confirm the number of people who had been held inside the three-story structure at 1800 North Interstate Drive, but shortly before 3 p.m. they tweeted that a suspect was in custody.

Capt. Tom Easley of the Norman Police Department said the hostage situation had been going on inside office space housed by Nextep Inc.

Nextep said on Facebook that all its employees were safely evacuated from the building but that it could not say whether any tenants were still inside. The company, a professional employer organization, performs administrative tasks for other companies.
