BRIEF: Hooded woman robs Crown Point bank Friday

May 08--A woman dressed in black and wearing a hood and sunglasses robbed a Main Source Bank in Crown Point Friday, police said.

Police Chief Pete Land said police receive a silent hold-up alarm from the bank, located in the 11300 block of Broadway, just before 5:30 p.m., but the suspect was gone by the time officers arrived.

The woman entered the building and handed the teller a note demanding money be placed in the bag the woman provided, Land said. She received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, he said.

No weapon was displayed and no one was injured in the incident, he said.

Police are canvassing area businesses looking for possible witnesses or surveillance tape that may have captured an image of the suspect or a vehicle used in the robbery.

The Federal Bureau Investigation has been notified, Land said.
