Dec. 01--Chicago Tribune Media Group's Lake County News-Sun reports: A homeless man accused of firing a handgun at Waukegan police officers during an armed robbery investigation was arrested and is being held on $1 million bond.

Johnny Sisson, 36, was taken into custody without incident Nov. 26 near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Indiana Street after being "actively" sought as a suspect in the Nov. 22 shooting, police said.

"There were officers who were familiar with him, especially with his homeless situation," Cmdr. Joe Florip said.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. Nov 22 after two patrol officers responded to an armed robbery report. The robbery was one of four such incidents reported to police between Nov. 14 and 22.
